What would be a good school to get a degree in criminal justice?

By | August 30, 2015

I live in California and I’m planning in enrolling in college to get my degree in criminal justice. I might be going online and would like to know if anyone in LE can tell me what are the best schools for criminal justice degrees.

Don’t know the west coast that well.
John Jay (CUNY) in NYC and Sam Houston in Texas are both great.
If your looking for LE management/administration Northwestern in Evanston, Il. is great. When I attended as a police sergeant it was called the Traffic Institute.

If you are looking to be a cop I would avoid cj as a major. It is way to limited in scope. Cops are generalists. CJ as a major impresses no one who does the hiring for police.
If you want to be a cop I would suggest just about any humanities /liberal arts or science major.
You need to develop your logic and critical thinking skills. Those would serve you well as a cop.
