Definitely make sure that it is an accredited college!! If not, then you’ll pretty much just be wasting your time.

World College (http://www.worldcollege.net) is accredited by the Distance Education Training Council (DETC) and is therefor recognized by the US Govt as “accredited”. They are therefor “real” and “legit”.

That said, they are not regionally accredited (RA) which makes transfer of credit later a real challenge. Further, if you decide to go on to a higher degree level after this one – the degree from World College may not qualify for admission.

Tuition there is not excessive but it is pretty high compared to what you can do elsewhere. Your state college probably teaches online and is probably less expensive and has aid available for you. Just a thought.

Bottom line: DETC schools are legit but an RA school would give you a more useful degree and more options later – often at a lower cost.

Do some research about online programs and see what’s out there. Some are really good. I use the search tool at Peterson’s to find online degree programs – there are 1000s.
