Does anyone know any good online colleges?

By | November 30, 2015

I’m going to be a freshman in college this year and I need some help selecting an online school. I just need my first year basics. If anyone knows of any good ones I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

If you must choose online courses, then at least have them through a brick and mortar college-NOT an online college. The reason I say this is that online programs are generally not well accepted in the job market. As a former job recruiter, I can say that we never hired anyone with an online degree. There are rampant reports of people hiring others to take online courses for them. The impostor gets the degree for the buyer, and the person holding the online degree has no real degree at all.
Although some brick and mortar colleges may offer some online courses, they typically limit the number of online semester hours that can count towards a degree. The limit is typically no more than 12 semester hours of online classes. The other issue here is that you miss part of the college experience. The classroom provides personal contact and socialization that is not possible online.
The bottom line here is that once you think it over, you probably don’t want any online college.

There are tons of traditional schools, colleges, and universities offering full programs online. Check out your state colleges to see what they have. This site has a listing of schools offering online degrees by state.
