    There are some courses for which this is true. However, going to a college or university is more than filling in the answers on a test. One of the most important aspects is the exchange of ideas that occurs in a classroom between students (and instructors) and the learning one does as you are exposed to the thought processes of others. Unless the distance learning course makes accommodations to allow students taking the course to interact with each other either through video conferencing or some other means, that part of your education will be lost. While distance learning easily accommodates the learning of “facts”, it can provide a shallow knowledge if one is not careful.
